Release

The parents of River (my OC). The woman is a water spirit and the man is human. I thought it appropriate to use watercolors for this since the mom is from water

Summary:
The father, Percy Dauphin, is very smart, and is a college professor. However, the job is stressful and he is still young, so he often goes to the lake to release his tension. He comes to love the water. One day all his built up tension is enough to summon a spirit from the very water he loves. It is love at first sight for both. Over time, the spirit becomes more human and eventually marries Percy. She gets pregnant with River, but this threatens the balance of the human and spirit worlds, which are usually kept far apart. As a result, the child is cursed. After the spirit gives birth, she is banished back into the water. Percy is left with the child and the grief of losing his wife.

…and the story continues with River as the main character, though I'm still not done the plot
